Over at Triple Pundit they have an interesting post and discussion about bottled water, and its true costs. According to Pablo, a bottle of Fiji water (which is apparently imported from Fiji) requires 6.74kg of water to produce, and produces .25 kg of carbon.
In discussions about the post at Triple Pundit and Treehugger, there is disagreement about assumptions and some sort of paranoid discussion about fluoride in tapwater as some sort of poison.
To me, regardless of the numbers, it seems self evident that shipping water from Fiji (or France) is not a great idea.
