This story by the AP caught my eye this morning.
In a Seattle suburb, eco-terrorists allegedly torched newly built multi-million dollar homes that had been promoted as being environmentally friendly. “Built Green? Nope Black!” was a sign that was left behind, with the initials of ELF.
The purported arsonists are members of ELF, Earth Liberation Front, a loose organization of radical environmentalists.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
I’m all for promoting green, but this is pretty ridiculous. I’m fairly certain the fumes from the smoke, the resources to put out the fires, and the resources needed to rebuild the homes aren’t exactly good for the environment.
Organizations like ELF sometimes go too far and give the movement a bad name.
