Check out the gas prices in San Mateo, CA – I took this picture just a few days ago when I was driving around. (How high are gas prices in your neighborhood?)
In response to the escalating gas prices, I’ve been trying to drive less – not the easiest feat if you live in an area that does not have good public transportation. I’ve taken up Paul’s advice and started walking to work. It’s great! I love that I consume less gas. My wallet loves it too. And I love the health benefit: it’s great exercise, and I feel so energized the rest of the day.
Being able to walk even 5,000 steps a day is a challenge for me (I’m in a lot of meetings during the week), so I get a thrill seeing my pedometer hit the 11,000 mark when I walk to and from work.
WOW, I thought I’d see gas prices break the $4 mark much later this year… and definitely not by that much.
Gas prices are about $3.60 where I am – I’m not looking forward to prices breaking the $4 mark. To add insult to injury, I drive a car that takes supreme. Surprisingly however, the 20 cent price difference between regular and supreme has remained fairly consistent. I smell something fishy… Regardless, my next car will be a regular unleaded type of car. That is, unless I go full electric or some type of biofuel!
